WEAPONS
The blade of the sword is made of nickel-plated iron, single-edged and ends in a point. On both sides it is run by a shallow, wide concave line and has a slightly embossed decoration of spirals, flowers and the crescent. The grip is white varnished bone and has 11 rows of wire decoration. It has a brass guard, which in the upper part touches it and ends in a lion’s head, while the part perpendicular to the blade ends in small demon heads. The right part of the guard is movable, elaborately decorated with a representation of a radiant crescent moon, while on either side are the banners of the Imperial Turkish Army. From the grip of the sword hangs the gilded tassel, which consists of a gold woven band. The scabbard is iron, nickel-plated and ends in a ring through which the brass suspension ring passes.
