The main body is iron and painted black. The barrel on the left side is marked SMITH & WESSON and on the right is marked: *388* W.C.T.G.*. The metal on the right side is engraved with the manufacturer’s trademark (circle with the letters SW and the words TRADEMARK) and marked "MADE IN U.S.A.". The grip, right and left is lined with wood and has an engraved lattice decoration and a metal small round surface with the manufacturer’s trademark. At the end is a flattened ring, bolted to the iron body, which at this point is marked “686678”. Above, carved into the wood, are the letters "JJ$".
