The service bell (desk bell) consists of the following parts: a) The brass base plate, which is lined on the bottom with green felt to protect the furniture, b) The sound mechanism, which is fitted to a round piece of wood, in the centre of the base plate, c) The marble protective body, covering the mechanism. The marble is green, luxurious and polished. Brass eagles are affixed to the long sides, with open wings and thunderbolts in their claws. The narrow sides have brass wreaths with ribbons. On the top side of the marble body is a small white ivory button. Finally, a piece of cable from the sound mechanism of the “bell” is also preserved.
