Turkish rifle Mauser M1890. This breech‑loading, long‑barreled Mauser M1890 has five right‑twist rifling grooves and a 7.65 mm caliber . It has a bolt-action mechanism and is fed from a 5‑round magazine. It also carries a leather sling with a brass buckle. On the left side of the iron firing mechanism, externally, it bears engraved markings in Old Arabic script. It has a metal buttplate and two metal bands that bind the barrel to its wooden stock. One of these bears a flattened metal loop through which the leather sling passes, while another similar loop is present on the lower part of the stock for the same purpose. This particular weapon is a Turkish war trophy.
