1917 Military Merit Third Class medal of the Macedonian Fighter and Balkan War fighter Athanasios Souliotis-Nikolaidis. This brass medal consists of a cross, which is surrounded by a laurel wreath. In the centre is a representation of the Phoenix rising and engraved on the arms are the words “DEFEND THY COUNTRY”. Two swords are crossed between the arms of the cross. The observe is flat and bears the inscription “HELLAS 1916-1917”. The ribbon is yellow-gold in colour with two vertical black stripes. In the middle is a laurel wreath.
