STAMP
WORLD WAR I
SEALS
World War I metal stamp (1916) in a closed round metal case. On the obverse it bears a relief representation of a crowned double-headed eagle and the circular inscription “EMMANUEL A. LITINAS CAPTAIN. 1916”. On the back side a small double metal handle, which works with a double spring. It has a sliver-plated case that resembles a pocket-watch. The front of the case is engraved with a bird inside a wreath of flowers. The stamp belonged to the Macedonian Fighter - Balkan Wars fighter Manolis Litinas of Apostolos, from Amnato Crete, who acted as captain in the Corps of Pavlos Gyparis and collaborated with E. Binis, Skountris and others. The stamp, if the existing date 1916 is taken into account, should have been used by Litinas during the National Defence Movement.
