NAGANT M1898 revolver of Macedonian Fighter Sotirios Tsepenekis from Sidirokastro. The iron body of the revolver has a slightly obtuse L-shape and clockwise 7-round cylinder feed system with a double action mechanism. The top of the barrel is marked with the number 47696 and on the grip is the inscription L NAGANT BREVETE LIEGE 1898. The grip has wooden brown pads, with an embossed dense mesh, which are bolted to the revolver. NAGANT revolvers were designed by Belgian brothers Emile & Leon Nagant. The Μ1895 was made in both single-action and double-action models, known as the “Private’s model” and “Officer’s model” respectively. A large number of these was made at the Tula Arsenal (Russia). The single-action Μ1895 was used as the service revolver of Bulgarian Officers from 1898-1919.
