World War I French Military Cross (Second Class). Bronze square-cross medal on two crossed swords. The front bears a crowned women’s head and the inscription "REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE" all around the periphery. The back is marked with the date 1914-1917. The top arm of the cross has a ball where the suspension ring passes. The ribbon has seven thin red and six green stripes alternating and in the middle a bronze five-point star.
