THE MACEDONIAN STRUGGLE

This brass medal is round in shape. The obverse bears an image of Alexander the Great and the circular inscription “MACEDONIAN STRUGGLE 1903-1909”. The reverse is decorated with the phoenix rising with open wings and a circular inscription “HELLENIC REPUBLIC 1931”. On its base are the letters PK (Panagiotis Kelaidis) indicating the name of the engraver. The medal has a silk striped ribbon, with bands of yellow in the centre, two black bands on the sides and light blue on either side and a brass olive branch. On the upper side there is a ring where the suspension ribbon is attached.
