5.5-inch medium gun Type: Medium gun Origin: Great Britain Year of manufacture: 1940 Caliber: 139.7 mm Barrel length: 4.358 m Weight: 5 796 kg Maximum range: 16000m Although it was classified as a gun, most of the time it was used as a howitzer. It was one of the most effective weapons of its class and remained in service until the ‘70s with the British Army. Around the same time it was also retired from the Greek Army.
