Brass medal in a round shape. The obverse in the middle shows a standing winged Nike of the 5th century BC, holding and distributing laurel wreaths. The reverse bears the circular inscription: “THE GREAT WAR FOR CIVILIZATION 1914-1918”, as well as the names of the allied and partner states on a sign entitled: “ALLIES AND PARTNERS” on which the infant Hercules is kneeling with snakes in his hands. On the top side of the medal there is an ornate ribbon attachment ring. The ribbon has opposing the colours of two rainbows whose red coincides in the centre. Also on the ribbon is the large attachment pin.
