UNIFORMS
The doulamas is made of luxurious dark blue woollen felt and trimmed with fine crimson piping. It is fitted at the waist. The bottom part is very wide, as there are 16 pleats on the back side. In the middle of these are two pleats with three darts and three buttons. On the chest, large triangular lapels open to the shoulders and waist, with gold embroidery, five darts at the top and a row of L-shaped false buttonholes; 21 in number, with corresponding metal buttons bearing the royal crown. On the right and left there are slit pockets at the height of the hips, which have a pleat with three darts. The collar is small, raised and closes with a snap. In fact, the doulamas is sleeveless, but there are two false sleeves, which turn back and are fastened with snaps. The sleeves have gold embroidery on the cuff and on the shoulder. The cuffs have a pyramid shape, with darts and each one has seven metal buttons decorated with a crown. The doulamas at the chest is lined with black satin lining, while the sleeves and “aprons” of the skirt have crimson lining. On the right apron, there is written in black ink the marking “DIM. TSITSIMI”. The cap is made of black satin cotton fabric and lined with beige cotton fabric. It consists of a side band and a round top surface, which gathers in the middle, where there is a covered button. On the side of the forehead it has a stitched metal cross, coated with white and blue enamel and on the right and left embroidered in white thread the letters “E TH” Eleftheria - Thanatos which mean freedom or death. Inside, in ink, there is the marking: “D. TSITSIMI”.
