Traditional Boula (bride) costume from the custom “Janissaries and Boules” of Naoussa. It consists of the mask (with the bridal veil), the shirt (chemise) with hoops, the dress, the cropped vest embellished with gold embroidery (saltamarka), the two plastrons (inner and outer), the coins on the neck, the sash (fabric that encircled the waist and hips), the embroidered belt with the ornate buckle (kolani), and the handkerchief. The Boula costume largely consists of parts of the traditional bridal costume of Naoussa.
