Tarabulo – Strap made of pure silk, part of the traditional Janissary costume from the custom “Janissaries and Boules” of Naoussa. It is tied elaborately on the Janissary’s mask by a specialised craftsman. It consists of three dimity panels sewn together. The weft and the warp create small beige, yellow, orange, red, olive green and green squares, which are different on each panel. Its ends are trimmed with short fringes.
