Tarabulo – Strap made of taffeta, part of the traditional Janissary costume from the custom “Janissaries and Boules”, or simply “Boules”, of Naoussa. It is tied elaborately on the Janissary’s mask by a specialised craftsman. It consists of three dimity panels sewn together. The fabric pieces have plaid patterns – different in the middle panel from the other two – in white, green, yellow, blue and red colours. Its ends have short white, red, yellow and blue-green tassels.
