Pala sword (yataghan) with scabbard, part of the traditional Janissary costume from the custom “Janissaries and Boules” of Naoussa. The metal blade is attached to a wooden hilt with a metal hand guard. The edge of the hilt has a red tassel. The scabbard is made of metal and lined mid-length with red velvet. Two metal sheets form a cross on the fabric. From a ring on the side hangs a red cord with two tassels, which goes across the body. The initials “L.E.N.” are engraved at the top of the scabbard.
