Women’s traditional costume from Episkopi, Imathia. It consists of the shirt, the plastron, the inner overcoat (sayias), made of cotton and velvet fabric, the outer, embroidered overcoat (sayias), the apron, the buckled belt, the headband with the triangular end, and the coins on the chest. It is the formal/festive costume not only of Episkopi, but also of about twelve other villages in the plain of Naoussa. The designation “costume of Episkopi” has been established because it was probably there that the costume was discovered for the first time by a researcher, but also because it is considered perhaps the most impressive among the costumes of the villages of Naoussa.
