Women’s dark blue footwear known as papalaki, part of the traditional costume of Metaxades, Thrace. It consists of three panels of fabric, the two panels of the sole and the main one that surrounds the foot. The opening is decorated all around with wavy azure and white lines, as well as green, yellow, and red threads. The same wavy azure line is also sewn at the bottom. The entire surface is decorated with appliqued sequins.
