Men’s black Makedonomachos overcoat (dulamas). It is handmade from top-quality woollen yarn (kasinaki technique). It consists of two separate sections, the vest and the stylised fustanella with triangular panels sewn together. The garment is double-breasted and has a stand-up collar. It buttons with two opposite rows of metal buttons. On the lower front side, it has two flaps. On the back, the corresponding section forms pleats. The overcoat’s epaulettes are perforated so that the black shirt worn underneath can be seen. The folds of the sleeves, the ends of the two lower flaps of the front, as well as the edges of the two double-breasted panels on the chest, are surrounded by two appliqued decorative garlands in a wavy shape, one embroidered in gold and the other made of red thread. Additionally, the collar is richly embellished with gold embroidery which covers its entire surface, surrounding it, and consists of a double band and two narrow individual stripes. The garment has elaborate appliqué vegetal decoration consisting of branches with olive leaves that form spiral motifs both on the front and on the back. The decoration of the dulamas is completed with two rows of spherical bronze decorative buttons (twenty-two on the left panel and twenty-three on the right), placed at a Γ-shaped angle on the surfaces of the two front overlapping panels, so that a conical pattern is formed when the garment is buttoned. Ten similar buttons also adorn the ends of the two sleeves, placed in rows of five on each one. The dulamas is lined on the inside with red cotton fabric.
