Sleeved short black vest (saltamarka). It consists of three sections in total: the two central front panels and the larger trapezoid-shaped back panel, which are joined together at the shoulders and sides, below the underarms. The garment has a stand-up collar and a deep vertical opening at the front, on the chest. It is sewn from high-quality fabric, more specifically wool (felt). The collar, the ends of the sleeves and of the two vertical front panels of the garment, as well as the perimeter of the vest, are bordered by a decorative garland embroidered with gold, which consists of thin double gold cord and is completed by a fine continuous spiral woven with gold thread (on the collar, the decorative garland is woven in a way that it creates a linear border). The collar’s decoration is complemented by multiple gold sequins. The lower corners of the two front panels are richly embellished with two similar geometric motifs, specifically two isosceles triangles, whose the sides are formed by the same continuous gold spiral that borders the rest of the garment. The lower central part of the back of the vest is decorated with an elaborate vegetal motif embroidered with gold, which is placed at the upper end of the aforementioned decorative garland. The inside of the triangles is also decorated with multiple gold sequins. Particular attention has also been paid to the seams below the underarms, which are bordered by a double thin decorative band sewn with gold cotton thread. The inside of the vest is lined with orange cotton fabric richly embellished with vegetal decoration that consists of green leaves of various dimensions. The front panels of the garment have red facing, while the inside of the collar and the ends of the sleeves are covered by wide red bands woven with silk-and-cotton yarn.
