Dark blue silk bodice of a woman’s wedding dress. It is sewn from a single straight panel of fabric, which is folded in two to form the front and back of the garment without seams on the shoulders. It has a neckline with a stand-up collar that ends in a big semi-circular opening at the front, covering the entire bust, so that the plastrons worn on the inside could be seen and also to make baring the chest easier during breastfeeding. Around the outside, the garment’s opening is decorated with embroidered gold cord consisting of two wide strips of vegetal decoration embroidered with gold, while the perimeter of the inner side is decorated with two narrow coiled red velvet strips, gold cord and a continuous spiral. The ends of the two sleeves are embellished with vegetal decoration embroidered in gold. In the centre of the lower part of the opening, the garment has a vertical slit with gold buttons, called closure, which made it easier for women to dress.
