Women’s round-shaped headdress. The centre of its upper part is embellished with an embroidered circular gold design depicting a six-pointed star, similar to the popular official emblem of the Kingdom of Macedon. The rest of its surface, which is embroidered with concentric circles, is covered by vegetal motifs created with gold thread and sequins, using the terzidiko or couching embroidery technique. Attached to the same spot is an embroidered gold band (kossa) decorated with sequins and semi-precious stones, from which hangs a tassel made of gold and blue silk threads. The hat’s perimeter is adorned with gold thread, fringes and shiny sequins. Its lower part (below the fringe) is bordered with a square white cotton kerchief, folded properly into a sash (bogos) and attached to the side, which is embellished with vegetal decoration (and an embroidered decorative garland all around its edge) in shades of green, red, light brown, pink and blue.
