Sleeveless brown woollen dress of the women’s traditional costume of Metaxades, Thrace. The neck opening is square-shaped, and the chest has two vertical openings, the korfulithres, which made breastfeeding easier. The armholes and the openings of the neck and chest are surrounded by orange cord. The sternum has an appliqued piece of brown fabric with embroidered lilac and white flowers and embroidered straight and wavy white, orange, pink and green lines. The sternum is fully embroidered with blue, red, orange, green, yellow and white vegetal and geometric decoration. The embroidery is surrounded by an orange wavy line, with additional small orange and brown decorative elements. The line continues around the neck to the back. The korfulithres are also surrounded by delicate colourful embroidery and have green embroidery with an orange border and four small flowers between them. A red stripe has been embroidered at the bottom of the dress, with colourful embroidered decoration. The end of the dress has an appliqued piece of white fabric with lace and colourful anthropomorphous decoration. The seam connecting it to the dress is covered with orange cord.
