Kontosi – Short woollen vest of the women’s traditional costume of Alexandreia (Roumlouki), Imathia, with a blue sayias. It has a round neckline with a stand-up collar and a vertical front opening. It is embellished with a row of gold cord on the front opening, the collar, the edges of the sleeves and around the waist. On the collar and around the waist, it is richly embroidered with gold vegetal and geometric motifs that form a triangle on the back. The gold-embroidered kontosi was worn by young women and brides.
