Kontosi – Short woollen vest of the women’s traditional costume of Alexandreia (Roumlouki), Imathia, with a blue sayias. It has a round neckline with a stand-up collar and a vertical front opening. It is embellished with two rows of gold cord on the front opening and around the waist, and with one row on the collar and edges of the sleeves. On the collar and around the waist, it is richly embroidered with gold spiral meanders and other geometric motifs that form a triangle on the back. The gold-embroidered kontosi was worn by young women and brides.
