Kontosi – Short woollen vest of the women’s traditional costume of Alexandreia (Roumlouki), Imathia, with a blue sayias. It has a round neckline with a stand-up collar and a vertical front opening. It is embellished with gold cords on the front opening, the collar, the edges of the sleeves and around the waist. On the collar and around the waist, it is richly embroidered with gold geometric patterns with broken lines. On the back, a triangle is formed by these same patterns, which is surrounded by gold cord. The gold-embroidered kontosi was worn by young women and brides.
