Correspondence of Georgios Typaldos 1861-1865
ManuscriptGeorgios Typaldos Iakovatos distinguished himself as a Member of Parliament both in the political arena of the Ionian Islands during the period of the Ionian State (1850), and in that of the Greek Kingdom after the Union of the islands with Greece (1864). He was the son of Aloysios Typaldos Iakovatos. His mother Aikaterini came from the equally powerful Krasas family, one of the most powerful of the island. The exact date of his birth is not known, but the most likely year can be considered the year 1813 according to his baptism certificate dated January 25, 1814. Georgios was the fifth of the males of the family, after the metropolitan of Stavropouli Constantine (1795-1867), the jurist Nikolaos (1801-1884), the sailor Antzoulos (Angelos, 1807-1830) and the doctor Charalampos (1810-1885). In the family there was another daughter named Kyriakoula.
